Welcome to Sachs' Bayside Bungalow…Bayside Deep Waterfront Pool Vacation Home with Dockage & Tiki Hut in Marathon, FL, in the heart of the Florida Keys. A three bedroom and two bath home that sleeps 8, boat ramp is .3 miles away and plenty of trailer and vehicle parking. Our home is privately owned and managed.
Marathon, Florida creates a diving and fishing environment unique in the world. Troll the beautiful blue waters for ferocious fighters, such as, dolphin, sailfish, marlin and wahoo or anchor just off the reefs for bottom huggers, such as, grouper and snapper. With easy access to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, this home is perfect for anglers and the water sports enthusiast. The deep waterway has a straight route to the Gulf with no winding canals. Within minutes in either direction and no idle zones, is the 7-mile bridge and Vaca Cut to enter the Atlantic Ocean. If there are rough seas in the ocean, the bayside is typically calmer. The Gulf is where you are going to find lobster, plenty of fish, and excellent conditions for kayaking, paddle boarding, and snorkeling. The Harbor Drive boat ramp is .3 miles from our home and located at 1278 Harbor Drive. There is a $25 launch and retrieval fee and there is a kiosk that accepts credit cards. If your boat trailer has three axles or more, you cannot use this boat ramp and will have to use the boat ramp located at 33rd Street Gulf.

Are you interested in checking out the local attractions? Visit the Turtle Hospital, historic little Pigeon Key Island, and museum, the Crane Point Hammock Nature Preserve and History Museum. You can immerse yourself at the Aquarium Encounters or the world-renowned Dolphin Research Center where you can get up close and personal (even swim with) Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins.
The area restaurants offer everything from casual ocean-front dining featuring continental cuisine and coastal specialties. We consider ourselves as “Foodies” and recommend Hideaway Café, which is recognized for its excellence in serving top-notch cuisines. For an appetizer, we recommend the escargot that is sauteed in garlic with fresh spinach and cheese. Every dish is outstanding; however, our favorite entrée is the hog fish francese. They have an incredible wine selection, and the desserts are out of this world! Be sure to call to make reservations. Lazy Days South has oceanfront dining while feasting on exquisite Keys style cuisine. Any seafood prepared in the “Lazy Day Style” is delicious. If you like Cuban food, you need to get takeout at La Nina restaurant. We recommend roast pork or chicken with white rice, black beans, and plantains. On Fridays, they have oxtail, which is amazing! Irie Island Eats is Caribbean seafood and has the most amazing poke bowls we have ever eaten! It is outdoor eating only or takeout. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
As for groceries, there is a Publix grocery store within minutes from our home. The store has a wide variety of seafood, souvenirs and even fishing gear and bait. In the same complex, stop by Publix liquor store for all your cocktail needs. My favorite part going grocery shopping, is watching the roosters, chickens, and baby chicks in the parking lot. They are the welcoming committee for the Florida Keys!!!
